There,you stood proudly tall,
Waiting to answer your country's call.
To have fought this far and make it through,
A country's freedom is calling you.
Soon,you'll touch their sands,but not without bloodflow,
As many a veteran would know.
That the invaders would fight back too,
Admist the cries of the occupied for the freedom long overdue.
Without you,nothing would ever be the same today,
If not for your sacrifice on the beaches miles away.

Ah,that is true but the beaches I meant in this poem is actually in Normandy,6th June was the Allied Landings over there(you might know about this.)It was a terrible day,so I thought I wrote a little something to remember it.
